Find Your Passion and Run with It

When we’re growing a toddler to a young adult, all we hear from the people around us is “no.” Whether it’s because we’re actually doing something wrong, or saying we want to go to the moon instead of school, people are quick to respond with things that are synonymous to the word “no” by saying “you can’t do that,” or “that’s impossible to do; are you crazy?” Well guess what: The people who tell you no to pursuing your dreams want to see you fail, or had their dreams taken away from them at some point in their life. It’s time you start saying thank you to all the people who say the word “no” to you because that is how you know you have a dream to work on and go after in life. We hear the word “no” at least 18,000 times from the time we’re a toddler until we hit adulthood. What we do not hear more of is the word “yes,” despite it being what should be heard; certainly more than the word “no” when we’re chasing our dreams.

I’m here to tell you from the start that whatever you want to achieve in life you can actually achieve by yourself, no matter what anybody says to you. While you sit there and think of all the things you want to do in life, society is trying to stop you indirectly from trying to achieve that dream you have in your head. I have learned at a fairly young age that life is way to short to worry about the little things in life like “what are people going to say if I don’t have the cool sneakers or the latest style of clothing?” or “what if I don’t go to the party this weekend, what are my friends going to think?” What truly matters is asking yourself questions and the answers you give yourself to achieve your goals and dreams. Ask yourself questions like “how can I reach my destination?” “Why are you pursuing your dream?” “Who is going to benefit from the things you do?” The answers to these questions will give you a glimpse into whether you are chasing a dream or chasing an idea. True success in life, as well as obtaining your dreams, is not how much money you have but the amount of lives that are changed positively because of the things you do.

One thought can change the world. Everything around us in society is changing and the time to chase your dream(s) is today and now. If you missed the chance today to do something you wanted to do all along, there is a gift of tomorrow coming, so don’t take it for granted because some people don’t receive that gift, so take that gift and make it the best thing and start your adventure to accomplishing your goals and dreams.

No dream is too big and no man is too small, you just have to want more than you need it and it will become yours.

What are you going to do today to make tomorrow better?
